10 Instagram-Worthy Spots in Los Angeles: Coffee Shops & Architecture Galore

If you’re a junkie for beautiful architecture, lovely coffee shops, and photo-friendly travel – this guide with 10 instagram-worthy spots in LA is for you!

I had the pleasure of riding down to L.A. with a group of talented, witty, and incredibly good-looking friends! And guess what? I met them all through Instagram. I’d love to share a few of the most instagrammable places my friends and I visited, with photos shot by me or my wonderfully talented friends. Hope this will help you better plan out your next Los Angeles trip!

1. Anaheim Packing District

The Anaheim Packing District, opened daily at 10:30am with juice & coffee available as early as 9am, is the new favorite hotspot in town. Imagine a large market decorated with refurbished historic structures for new exciting uses. Enjoy yummy eats from Kroft’s short rib poutine to Popbar’s handcrafted gelato on a stick (yes, you can dip it in dark chocolate and drizzle it with white). Did I mention how absolutely beautiful it is? With wooden to grey cement walls, hanging succulent plants, paper lanterns, and live music – this is the perfect place to get lost in good food and good vibes with good company.

2. Bates Motel

A deserted Sunset Pacific Motel, known as the “Bates Motel”, in Los Angeles was recently transformed by French Artist Vincent Lamouroux. What did he do? He painted it entirely white. Yes, even the palm trees are white! This giant white structure creates a great opportunity for people to sport all white or all black and get a nicely contrasted or camouflage photo.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the largest art museum in western US taking over 20 acres of downtown LA. It holds a collection of over 120,000 objects – incredible! Some of its stunning pieces include the famous Urban Lights, an installation consisting of 202 restored street lamps. Another the Levitated Mass, a 340-ton boulder set above a concrete trench. Catch yourself wondering through endless good finds. From Asian to pre-Columbian to contemporary art, LACMA has got everything you need to max out the memory space on your camera!

4. Bradbury Building

The Bradbury Building is one of the most beautiful architectural landmarks in LA. With open cage elevators, marble stairs, iron railings and a stunning Victorian court to wrap it all together – it is a MUST see. Although for the photographers who’d love to walk up and down this marvelous building, know that most floors are unfortunately blocked off. Still I’m sure your creative eyes will snap a fantastic photo!

5. Stahl House

The Stahl House, a modernist-styled glass house overlooking Los Angeles, is an award-winning architecture featured in many fashion shoots, films, and advertisements. Hold on though! In order to see this beautiful landmark, you have to schedule a Group or Private Tour. Yes, there is also a fee at $28 per person for an afternoon tour and $40 in the evening. Worth it? For a stroll around what is considered an iconic representation of modern architecture in LA? Yes! Find more information here. Shoutout to @Camnova for bringing us here!

6. The Last Bookstore

Calling all book nerds, vintage lovers, and artsy folks, the Last Bookstore is our home! Serving as California’s largest used and new book and record store, this independent bookstore rocks out with art exhibits and shelves after shelves of good reads. Get lost in books or well – just in all its weirdness!

7. The Assembly

My good friend from LA @grazfed recommended this new cafe in West Hollywood. Its wood-focused design and delicious latte had me head over heels. If you’re a coffeholic who crave beautifully lighted spaces and minimalistic interiors, head here!

8. Dinosaur Coffee

Dinosaur Coffee is an independent cafe located on Sunset Blvd. It’s bright wood-focused design (seeing a theme with coffee shops in LA) mimics the cleanliness of dinosaur bones. Wifi, bountiful cafe tables, and serving Fourbarrel Coffee with Song Tea – this coffee shop is a stunner.

9. Paul Smith Pink Wall

The Paul Smith store on Melrose is quite famous. For its clothes? HM…..what about for its very, oh-so-very pink wall? This iconic Pink Wall has taken instagrammers by storm – from fashion to lifestyle bloggers, this wall is a darling place to snap portraits. With its bright pink color, you’re guaranteed to look smashing!

10. Getty Museum

Now, now, my friends and I did not get a chance to visit the Getty Museum. Seriously, boo! But imagine a combination of arts, architecture, and gardens at TWO locations in Los Angeles. The Getty Center for striking architecture, open spaces, and a striking view of LA. The Getty Villa to immerse into the ancient world of Greece and Rome.

If you’re reading this and happen to have a photo you’d like to share of the Getty Museum, please do DM me on Instagram @CupofTJ. I’d love to feature your photography!
